Shawnee Sherman Obituary – Sherman Junior (Jay) Campbell went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 3, 2013. He was brought into the world on August 6, 1930, in Hazel, Oklahoma to Mattie and Calvin Campbell. He went to review school in Hazel, Oklahoma, and High School in Exeter, California. He wedded Audry Ruth Davison on December 1, 1951.

He entered the United States Army on September 28, 1948, and was recently released on September 26, 1953. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was granted the Purple Heart with 1Oak Leaf Cluster, Korean Service Medal with 6 bronze help stars, Combat Infantry Badge, Good Conduct Medal, and United Nations Service Medal.

Mr. Campbell was a butcher at Sanitary Grocery and Market for a very long time, Humpty Dumpty for a very long time, and Food World for a very long time, resigning in 1988. Mr. Campbell has been an inhabitant of Shawnee since 1953. He was an individual from the Downtown Pentecostal Holiness Church.

He is made due by his better half, of the home; four children and girls in-law; Gary and Debra Campbell, Choctaw, OK, Billy and Debbie Campbell, Shawnee, OK, Roger and Kenna Campbell, Bethel Acres, OK and Terry and Teresa Campbell, Choctaw, OK; nine grandkids; 20 incredible grandkids; and one extraordinary grandkid. Memorial service administrations will be 2 pm Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at Downtown Pentecostal Holiness Church. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Park. Administrations are under the course of Resthaven Funeral Home, Shawnee.
