Pat Martin Obituary – MARTIN, Pat – Pat’s malignant growth progressed quickly in her last week, taking her on April twentieth, 2021 at Groves Hospital in her 70th year. She leaves her significant other of 42 years, Peter Varty, sisters Anne Bromfield (Howard) and Heather Martin, nieces Jess Martin and Gillian Bromfield (Shane Green), nephews Tito Martin and Nick Bromfield (Rachel Stack), and terrific nieces and nephews, Tanner, Hillary, Kayden, Eli and Charlie.
She was known as a lady of style and beauty, knowledge, drive and solid will, a fussbudget, and the quintessential host. Brought into the world in Mexico City, she moved all over South America until coming to Canada to learn French in secondary school. Dominating that in only a half year she subsequently got trilingual. At University of Ottawa she was delegated “Frosh Princess” (difficult to envision nowadays) by John Turner. Of that she recalled his shining blue eyes just as her realm midriff, emerald green outfit.
Unsure about the future she took different summer occupations, remembering selling swampland for Florida prior to applying to be an airline steward. That ended up being a “vocation” of 16 years. An extended get-away in New Zealand, and still unsure about her future, she saw deer cultivating, and figured “I can do that”.
