Mary Ann Shadd Death – Google’s 9 October doodle commends the 197th birthday celebration of Mary Ann Shadd Cary, an American-Canadian paper supervisor and distributer, writer, instructor, legal counselor, abolitionist and suffragist.

Shadd Cary was conceived on 9 October in 1823 in Wilmington, Delaware to two devoted abolitionists who utilized their home as a station on the Underground Railroad to give safe house to got away from slaves.
