Grand Island Train Accident A person on foot who was attempting to get past a stopped Union Pacific train passed on late Wednesday morning on the east side of Grand Island. The grown-up male passed on at the scene. Police hadn’t yet attempted to recognize him, however assessed he was in his 40s.
It seems the man was attempting to go under or between the vehicles while the cargo train was paused and getting ready to maneuver into the rail yard, said Capt. Dignitary Elliott of the Grand Island Police Department.
“We don’t know now, yet eventually in time he wound up under the train while the train was gradually moving,” Elliott said. “Apparently the wounds were most certainly brought about by the train affecting him under the train.”
