Bishop Delano Ellis Death – J. Delano Ellis, Metropolitan Archbishop of the Joint College of Bishops, managing prelate of the Pentecostal Churches of Christ and chief minister of the Pentecostal Church of Christ in Cleveland, kicked the bucket Saturday at 75 years old, as per his family.
Ellis was locally darling and broadly known for his initiative in African American Pentecostalism.
Appointed in 1963, Ellis raised to the episcopacy in 1970. In 1989, he established the United Pentecostal Churches of Christ, presently known as the United Covenant Churches of Christ.
Ellis abandoned his pastorate a year ago. His better half, Dr. Sabrina Ellis at present fills in as the top leader at the Pentecostal Church of Christ in Cleveland.
